Celebrating Franco-American Friendship with the MICEFA Scholarships Ceremony

The ICP hosted the MICEFA scholarships award ceremony on April 23rd. This event highlights the collaboration between 18 Parisian universities, including the ICP, and more than 60 higher education institutions in the United States and Canada. Here's a look back at this wonderful evening!

The MICEFA Awards

The MICEFA (Mission Interuniversitaire de Coordination des Échanges Franco-Américains), representatives from member universities, and Michael Turner, the Cultural Counselor of the U.S. Embassy, gathered at the ICP to honor the recipients of the Lafayette Scholarships. These scholarships, symbols of nearly 250 years of friendship between the two nations, offer French students the opportunity to study across the Atlantic and contribute to strengthening cultural and academic ties.

The ceremony began with speeches from Emmanuel Petit, Rector of the ICP, and Jacques Pothier, President of MICEFA. Both emphasized the importance of these educational exchanges in an increasingly interconnected world. Twenty students were awarded scholarships, including two from the ICP, and they were entrusted with the mission of embodying the values of cooperation and exchange that define this program.

International Collaboration Between the ICP and MICEFA

The ICP welcomes and sends students each year through the MICEFA program, in addition to the Lafayette Scholarship recipients.

In September 2024, thirty-four students, including seventeen through MICEFA, will have the opportunity to go to the United States. In 2024-2025, 238 students will benefit from international exchanges thanks to the 135 agreements that the ICP has in 43 countries.
