Introduction

In this course, we will review grammar concepts and translate press extracts from French to English.

Objectives

This tutorial has a double objective: on the one hand, this course aims to allow students to consolidate their grammatical knowledge in  English, on the other hand it is an initiation to the techniques of translation into French and English. In grammar, in the second semester, we will study questions related to the noun. Regarding the translation part, we will focus on themes taken or adapted from press extracts on various subjects: societal, political, business or cultural.

Methods of Instruction

Active participation in class, questions.
 

Assessment and Final Grade

Mid-semester exam: 50% of the overall mark. End of semester exam: 50% of the overall score.
