Introduction

The course encourages student interaction in English through authentic materials (articles/poems/essays) and discussions of American civilization and international relations. Authors include: Rudyard Kipling, Robert Frost, Brad Manning. Topics include: affirmative action and the impact of technological innovation on society.

Objectives

The students are prepared to interact comfortably in English through discussions of multi-faceted and complex topics.

Methods of Instruction

Interactive lectures by the professor, discussions, debates, student presentations (with
instructions provided by the teacher, questions, and feedback).
 

Assessment and Final Grade

One presentation in English and one written exam focusing on interaction.
 

Course Requirements

The students are expected to participate actively and complete their assignments.
